From the thermal orbital image obtained by the satellite Landsat 8, it was possible to obtain the estimated surface temperature for the municipality of Florianópolis, Santa Catarina state in Brazil. From the map, it is possible to observe that the highest temperatures are associated with areas of greater urbanization and lower density of vegetation - evidencing the presence of heat islands.

- Thermal infrared image acquisition (band 10), TIRS sensor from the Landsat 8 satellite

- Conversion of Gray Level parameters to radiance

- Conversion of Radiance to Surface Brightness in Kelvin (Brightness Temperature)

- Supervised Pixel by Pixel Classification of Land Use (QGIS plugin Dzetsaka)

- Association of each Land Use with land emissivity

- Conversion to surface temperature (Land Surface Temperature)

- Conversion of temperature from Kelvin to Celsius
