Several times after years in service, at retirement, most aged finds a peaceful place to settle with couples and enjoy the rest of the years. Due to their age some environmental factors are being considered while choosing a place of settlement. This project helps in effectively screening settlements that meets the environmental factors such as vegetated area and closeness to health facilities.

To achieve this, I downloaded Nigeria health center, road and settlement from GRID3 and Landsat 8 imagery that covers my Area of Interest from USGS Earth Explorer.

In order to achieve the purpose of the project, I went through following process and analysis: buffer of 800m and 2500m respectively for settlement to health center and settlement to green areas, I did NDVI of Landsat 8 imagery in order to achieve the dense vegetated areas, I used clipping feature when need be, I did reclassification of NDVI and selection by location. I also used intersect function. After the whole process, I am able to segregate areas that meets the required criteria for settlement community for the aged. And this also will help in real estate and aid aged-friendly urban planning the my Area of Study.
